Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

Wintec | Te Pūkenga invites dynamic and experienced individuals to join our Animal Technology (Centre for Applied Science and Primary Industries) team in the heart of Waikato based at our lovely rural campus at Rotokauri. As a leading institution committed to delivering quality education and training, we are excited to be able to offer a fixed term .4FTE position within our animal care and vet nursing education team for semester two, 2024. The role is to:

Facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences for animal care and vet nursing students.

  • Instruct and mentor students in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $70,000 and $74,800, dependent on skills and experience and will be pro rata at .4 of the appointing salary.

The (Academic Staff Member role) is based in our (Wintec) | Te Pūkenga division reporting to the (Team Manager – Department of Animal Technology

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current registration as either a New Zealand Vet Nurse or Vet. 
  • Current clinical experience from companion/small animal and/or rural clinics.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring and/or teaching and a real desire to pass on your industry knowledge to our next generation of students.
