About the role

In this role, you'll provide leadership to our Financial Crime Investigations team, guiding high-quality and timely investigations across transaction monitoring, complex financial crime matters, and high-risk customer activity.

Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll help shape and support TSB's broader financial crime strategy while fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and excellence.

Who are you?

You'll be an experienced people leader with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing investigations teams within a risk, compliance, or financial crime environment. 

You bring strong expertise in managing complex investigations, maintaining robust quality standards, and applying effective operational risk controls to achieve consistent and well-informed outcomes.

Through your coaching, mentoring, and visible leadership experience, you'll build a high-performing team that delivers trusted, risk-based decisions and continuously looks for ways to improve how we work. 

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Oversee investigations, due diligence and decisioning.
  • Ensure accurate, timely and right-first-time delivery.
  • Maintain a strong risk and control environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across financial crime investigations processes.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging financial crime risks.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in financial services with strong exposure to financial crime  operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT legislation, transaction monitoring  frameworks, sanctions obligations and financial crime typologies.
  • Proven ability to make sound risk-based decisions and take accountability for  outcomes.
  • Advanced CAMS or KYC-related certification preferred.
