We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Financial Controller to support financial accounting and operations, treasury management, and compliance across our group. This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll not only ensure financial integrity and control, but also champion a strong business partnering approach.
About the role
Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for leading a team and ensuring financial information is accurate, timely, and compliant. You’ll oversee accounting, treasury operations, statutory reporting, insurance, tax, payroll and systems integrity while fostering strong internal relationships across the business.

Key responsibilities
- Lead month-end processes, financial reporting, and contribute to Board/Audit & Risk Committee reporting
- Manage statutory compliance including audits, tax, payroll and regulatory obligations (NZ and international)
- Oversee treasury management including cashflow, banking, working capital and foreign exchange hedging
- Lead and develop the team - AP, AR and Payroll
- Drive a business partnering approach, supporting stakeholders across the organisation
- Own and optimise financial system (Microsoft Business Central) and master data integrity
- Deliver budgeting and forecasting on a rolling cycle
- Maintain key financial registers (fixed assets, leases, etc.) and stewardship of assets including insurance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, internal audits, and system enhancements
- Manage relationships with external financial service providers.
About you
You’re a commercially astute and detail-focused finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys leading people.
You’ll bring:
- A degree in Finance/Accounting (CA preferred)
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior finance role, ideally in manufacturing, agriculture or similar
- Strong technical expertise in accounting standards
- Treasury and FX management experience
- Proven people leadership and ability to build high-performing teams
- ERP experience (Microsoft Business Central or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across the business
- Ability to cut to the chase and identify the things that matter.
Skills & Experience
A degree in Finance/Accounting (CA preferred)
