Financial Accountant
McKay are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This role will be based in our Auckland, Penrose office.
You will report directly to the Finance Manager, and will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of McKay. You will be responsible for various accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and best practice.
This role is for an early career Financial Accountant who has a passion to learn and be part of a dynamic projects-based business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining financial system processes.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts and the annual statutory accounts.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Assisting with annual budget and forecasts.
- Monitoring and analysis of budget and forecast variances.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Professional membership of the Chartered Accountants Australia and NZ, or similar.
- Previous experience in accounting or finance roles with sound knowledge of accounting standards.
- Proven analytical, reporting and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular MS Excel and different ERP systems.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
