Lead Finance - Drive Improvement - Make a Difference

MASH Trust is one of the lower North Island's leading providers of mental health, disability, addiction recovery and youth support services. Guided by our vision of working together to achieve great lives, we support more than 2,000 people and whānau through a range of residential, community and day services across Wellington, Kāpiti, Horowhenua, Manawatū, Whanganui and Hawke's Bay.

We are seeking an experienced and capable Finance Manager to lead our finance function and support the organisation's ongoing growth, performance and sustainability.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Manager leads a team of finance and payroll professionals and plays a key role in ensuring MASH remains financially well managed, compliant and sustainable.

This is a broad and varied role with responsibility for:

  • · Financial reporting, statutory accounts and audit management
  • · Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • · Cashflow, treasury and fund management
  • · Financial governance, controls and risk management
  • · Business partnering and financial advice to managers and leaders
  • · Leadership and development of the finance team
  • · Continuous improvement of finance systems and processes
  • · Acting as the subject matter expert for Workday Finance and supporting ongoing ERP initiatives

Working closely with the CFO, you will help translate financial and operational information into meaningful insights that support effective decision-making across the organisation.

About You

You will be a qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) with proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.

You will bring:

  • · Experience preparing statutory financial statements and managing external audits
  • · Strong financial reporting, budgeting and analytical capability
  • · Proven leadership experience and the ability to develop high-performing teams
  • · Strong business partnering and stakeholder relationship skills
  • · Experience improving systems, processes and reporting
  • · A practical, solutions-focused approach and sound commercial judgement
  • · The ability to thrive in a complex and evolving environment
  •  Experience within the health, social services, public or not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded.
