Remuneration:    $98,900 - $131,900 (Fixed remuneration excluding Kiwisaver)

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for financial excellence and partnership? Join Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology as a Finance Business Partner and help shape the future of vocational education in the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato.

In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate with senior leaders and cost centre owners to deliver insightful performance analysis and reporting, and strategic budgeting and forecasting. You’ll be instrumental in enhancing financial accountability and long-term planning across the organisation.

Finance and Infrastructure 

Finance and Infrastructure is a key enabling function for Toi Ohomai, supporting the development of business capabilities, processes and systems that enable our ākonga, organisation and kaimahi to thrive. This directorate leads financial partnership, infrastructure development, and digital innovation, ensuring our environments are not only safe and compliant, but also future-ready and aligned with the evolving needs of both ākonga (learners) and kaimahi (staff). From uplifting financial acumen and practice to transforming infrastructure (physical and digital), this directorate plays a vital role in creating spaces and systems that support learning, collaboration, and everyday operations.

Ngā mahi | Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver management reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Support strategic and operational decision-making through financial insights.
  • Coordinate budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legislation, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate to enhance financial systems and reporting tools.

You bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and cost centre managers.
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori success.
  • Ability to support te reo Māori, tikanga, and mātauranga Māori.
  • A passion for equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
