Are you looking for your next challenge on a farm with scale, in the heart of the Waikato?

Our clients are seeking a Farm Manager for their 750-cow dairy farm, centrally located in Taupiri. This 234-hectare farm is well resourced with Halter technology, a 50-bail rotary cowshed with in-shed feeding, automatic cup removers, Protrack, Halter, and a feed pad. With a neighbouring farm taking care of the young stock and a 31-hectare run-off block for cropping requirements, this role is one of a kind!

The progressive and supportive owners are seeking a Farm Manager who will treat this farm as their own and uphold its high standards. Over the past three years, the farm has averaged 350,000 kgMS in production, utilising pasture, PKE, and maize silage. Therefore, strong skills in pasture and supplement management, along with excellent animal husbandry, are essential. Additionally, a thorough understanding, and proactive approach to compliance regulations is vital.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years dairy farming experience, and 1 year farm management experience
  • Have excellent pasture management and feed planning knowledge
  • Excel in animal health and husbandry
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic
  • Have a proven track record for tidiness and attention to detail
  • Ensure all aspects of health and safety are managed
  • Value the farm and maintain the property

With a strong focus on collaboration, you’ll work closely with the smaller farm unit which manages the young stock, working together to build and implement best practices to contribute to our commitment to sustainability.

An attractive package is on offer, including a 4-bedroom, well maintained brick house with a double garage. This property is well located, with Hamilton less than 20 minutes away and easy access to the city life of Auckland or the stunning beaches of Coromandel and Bay of Plenty within a 90-minute drive. So, if you’re ready to make a meaningful impact in the dairy industry, we want to hear from you!

Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand, be drug-free, and provide an up-to-date CV with references, including their current employer.

Applications close: 10th November 2024
