Family Start Whānau Worker

This role is located in our Putaruru office and supports whanau across the South Waikato.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Family Start team for a caring, compassionate individual who is passionate about making a difference in our communities and in the lives of others. This is a full-time, permanent position, based out of our Putāruru tari.
The Role
Family Start is an integrated service with the Well Child Tamariki Ora team which focuses on improving tamariki growth and health, learning and relationships, family circumstances, environment and safety. Family Start is a home-based service which supports whanau on their parenting journey.
Local community knowledge, engagement and ability to foster relationships is a must in this role. You will also hold a Level 7 qualification in social work, nursing, early childhood education, or counselling.
We support all whānau who are struggling with trauma, challenges, or problems that put the health, education, and wellbeing of a tamariki at risk. Participation in the programme is voluntary. The ability to connect with a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences and bring a positive, strength-based approach will be key for success.
We support whānau in the Raukawa rohe, incorporating Tokoroa, Putāruru, Tīrau, Matamata, Cambridge, Mangakino, Te Awamutu, and surrounding areas.
