Manaaki Tāngata - Victim Support  is a national organisation working to strengthen the mana and well-being  of people affected by crime, traumatic events, and suicide in Aotearoa  New Zealand. Working with us would mean being able to make a tangible  difference in your community and in the lives of people who have  experienced crime or traumatic events. Advocacy for the rights of  victims will always be an essential part of our work with individuals,  organisations, and government agencies.


About the role | Mō te tūnga

This is a fixed term, 32-hour (0.8 FTE) role based at Te Taanga Manawa, Lambie Drive, Counties Manukau.  It is a Monday to Friday role although some flexibility around the hours  exists, subject to caseloads and manager approval. In the role of Family Harm Team Leader, Service Delivery you will be responsible for recruiting, leading, and  supporting a team of dedicated support workers who provide a service to New Zealand communities. Your role will provide day-to-day direction of the support workers and oversee case management. This also includes applying a focused approach to case management and ensuring the right people, resources and relationships  are in place. Organizing and facilitating ongoing training, providing coaching, and mentoring to support workers are also key components of the role.  Stakeholder liaison through the Police-led Whāngaia Ngā Pā Harakeke process will play a large part of the role and utilising the Integrated Service Response (ISR) database will be key.


About you | Mōu 

To be successful in this role you will be an excellent communicator and have exceptional  interpersonal skills along with a sensitivity to the needs of victims  of crime and traumatic events. We are also looking for people who can  demonstrate sound judgment and an ability to problem-solve. Candidates  must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. As Team Leader you will be a self-managing person who has:

  • experience in the social service sector
  • ability to think clearly and when needed to work under pressure.
  • sound judgment and an ability to problem-solve.
  • proven relationship management ability with some supervision/coaching and mentoring skills
  • demonstrated strong organizational skills.
  • an outgoing personality and be able to network and build relationships.
  • knowledge and understanding of Family Violence and Sexual Violence (is essential)
  • training facilitation skills and experience (will be an advantage)
  • computer competency - ability to learn a new data recording system(is essential)

  • You will be required to undergo pre-employment vetting by the NZ Police
