Faculty Administrator
Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role
The Faculty Administrator is a part-time (0.8 FTE) permanent position based at our Hawke’s Bay campus. This role provides high-quality administrative, customer service, and programme support to ensure smooth and consistent operational delivery across Faculties and Schools. The position supports academic staff, ākonga (students), and leadership teams by maintaining accurate records, ensuring efficient administrative systems, and enabling excellence in service delivery.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $53,196 and $61,122 (pro-rated to FTE), dependent on skills and experience.
The Faculty Administrator sits within Faculty Administration, reporting to the Faculty Administration Manager, and will be responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality frontline services and responding to enquiries across multiple channels.
- Providing administrative support for programme delivery and faculty operations.
- Maintaining accurate student records and processing enrolments, withdrawals, and results.
- Supporting academic staff with formatting, timetables, programme documentation, and meeting minutes.
- Coordinating events such as orientations, graduations, and stakeholder hui.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience managing sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of student management systems (e.g., Artena, aPlus+) is advantageous.
- An appreciation of te reo Māori and tikanga Māori.
