About the role

We are currently searching for an experienced Facilities Manager to join our Brightside team on a full-time basis. This role will be responsible for providing proactive management of the hospital grounds and facilities.

We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible, so candidates must be located in and have work rights in New Zealand. 

To be successful you will need experience of:

  • Managing all external contractors with regards to the maintenance of the hospital buildings, grounds, relevant plant, and equipment ensuring compliance with the local authority regulations and relevant NZ standards
  • Managing repairs and maintenance programmes (with a strong focus on HVAC and sterilisation) ensuring accurate records are kept and within budget.
  • Participating in projects involving facility refurbishments, expansions, and upgrades
  • Coordinating campus security
  • On call responsibilities
  • Working with an experienced management team and as such we require a ‘positive, can-do attitude’, being adaptable and responsive to the changing needs of the business, as well as having excellent communication skills.

Southern Cross Brightside Hospital 

Southern Cross Brightside Hospital in Epsom, Auckland has 33 in-patient beds and 6 day-stay chairs. Surgical specialities include Orthopaedics, Urology, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology.   

Our hospital features an intermediate care facility, a specialised post-operative ward for patients with medical conditions or surgical issues that require an enhanced level of monitoring and care. The beds are equipped to support invasive monitoring, medical infusions, and a 24-hour monitoring service, with specialised nurses with the knowledge and skills to deliver a more sophisticated level of care as required.
