Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of one of New Zealand's leading private hospitals.

As our Facilities Coordinator, you'll be the central point of coordination for maintenance activities, contractor management, and compliance across the hospital. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, hospital colleagues and contractors, you'll ensure maintenance programmes, statutory compliance, and essential building services are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to hospital operations.

This is a varied role combining facilities coordination, contractor management, compliance, and operational support. From preventative maintenance and building compliance to security systems, audits, and sustainability initiatives, you'll help create a safe, reliable environment for our people, specialists, and patients every day.

This is a full-time position based in our Christchurch Hospital

  • Experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a trade-related environment
  • Project coordination experience
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop technical skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities 
  • Experience maintaining records, reporting, and contractor documentation 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 
  • A proactive approach to identifying operational risks and driving continuous improvement 

Highly regarded:

  • Knowledge of building compliance, preventative maintenance, and health & safety requirements 
  • Knowledge of building services including mechanical, electrical or hydraulic systems 
  • Healthcare, commercial property, or complex facilities experience
