Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi – About the Role

EIT is seeking expressions of interest from qualified and experienced individuals in the hairdressing and/or beauty industries to support the delivery of Level 2–3 Trades Academy programmes.

This role is a part-time fixed term role and contributes to the learning success and pastoral care of ākonga, supports high‑quality programme delivery, and helps maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and industry partners.

The appointed remuneration for this role aligns with the Academic Step range of $66,198 – $71,488 per annum (pro‑rated)

The position is based within the School of Health and Sport Science, reporting to the Assistant Head of School, and may include delivery at the Tairāwhiti Campus and off‑site venues.

Scope of Services (EOI Requirements):

  • Tutoring and assessing Hair/Beauty for Trades Academy L2/3 programmes
  • Pastoral support for learners
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Upholding quality assurance standards
  • Maintaining and updating records and resources

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in either the hairdressing or beauty industry
  • Experience with training, teaching, or educational delivery in Hair/Beauty
  • Extensive practical skills and current industry knowledge
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to plan, meet deadlines, and uphold high administrative standards
  • Understanding of culturally responsive practice and commitment to ākonga success
  • Ability to deliver within specified timelines and budgets
