We’re a tight knit sustainability focused group which produces acclaimed wines across all varietals. Here’s a fantastic opportunity to join our Awatere Valley Team! 

As an Experienced Cellar Hand, you will be involved in all cellar operations from grape processing through to final preparation of wine for packaging. The location of this role is at Yealands' Seddon based Winery in Marlborough, New Zealand. This role is permanent full-time with a minimum guaranteed hours of work for this role are 40-45 per week. There are 3 vacant roles available. 

As an Experienced Cellar Hand, you’ll be involved in:

  • Independently performing core wine processes such as fruit receival, processing, racking, additions, transfers, centrifuge, crossflow (including high solids), and barrel operations.
  • Supporting cellar operations by following SOPs and maintaining accurate records.
  • Upholding high hygiene standards, reporting risks, and identifying maintenance needs.
  • Assisting with training entry-level Cellar Hands and supervising during Harvest.

Are you the right person for us? If you are, you’ll have:

  • 1–2 years winery experience; harvest supervision preferred.
  • Driver’s licence required; forklift and first aid is a plus.
  • Strong initiative to work independently on entry-level tasks.
  • Contributions and insights in team/production meetings.
  • Passion for wine,  sustainability  and being part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn, safety-focus, and adaptable style.
  • Flexibility for extended hours during vintage.
