We’re looking for an experienced and creative Events and Visitor Experience Advisor with a knack for planning seamless and memorable events and experiences.
As part of the Marketing and Communications Team at Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne, you’ll be a champion for storytelling through events, public programming and visitor engagement activities throughout the sanctuary. This is a fixed-term position.

You’re a bit of a nature nerd and love to share a fungi fact to anyone who will listen. You could spend hours bird watching and would point out your sightings to passersby. You’ve got at least 3 years’ experience in event planning or event marketing and have a brain full of ideas and activities to engage people with nature and conservation.
You’ve got an eye for detail and you’re known for your organisational skills and stakeholder management. You’ve got a knack for planning seamless and memorable events and know how to promote them to a wide range of audiences.

Reporting to, and supported by, the Marketing and Communications Manager, you’ll be developing and delivering engaging experiences and events that encourage visitation to Zealandia. You’ll be coordinating a team of Visitor Experience Volunteers and look for opportunities to improve the visitor experience journey. You’ll also feed into the wider marketing plan with promotions for events and visitation.
This is an 8-month fixed term position, at 32 hours per week. Full-time at 40 hours may be considered for candidates with graphic design experience.

Like all members of staff at Zealandia, you'll be expected to actively uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, actively continue your journey of learning te reo Māori, maintain and promote exceptional health and safety, and support the maintenance of biosecurity in the sanctuary.
