He angitūtanga - The opportunity
The Horowhenua District Council is looking for an Environmental Engineer to join our Community Infrastructure Team. We are committed to making a positive impact on the environment and are looking for someone who aligns with our values and is passionate about ensuring environmental risks are managed and minimised for the Horowhenua Councils Three Waters Activities in the Horowowhenua District. You will work closely with our Environmental Infrastructure Planner, providing Engineering support and provide and oversight and advice on all engineering aspects regarding the RMA, regional plan and district plan requirements for council’s infrastructure three waters activities.

We are people focused so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a collaborative environment and will be actively seeking continuous improvement. You will be a driven individual with an outcome focused approach who takes a big-picture, long-term view when planning and anticipating potential impacts. An Environmental Engineering or Science background is essential, and preferably experience working in stormwater management, water sensitive design, green infrastructure, hydrology and Three Waters infrastructure assessment and design.
