At Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO), we are a person-centred, charitable organisation with a proud history and dedicated staff who make a difference in the lives of our residents and clients every day. 

Two of seven care homes in PSO’s Enliven network, Ranui and Castlewood care homes, have led the way in quality residential care for older people in Alexandra. Castlewood offer rest home level care, while Ranui provides hospital level care, with a secure dementia care unit. Respite and palliative care are also available. The Enliven Manager role is also responsible for the oversight of residents in the 12 adjoining independent living units at Ranui Court, together with older persons' day programmes.

Ranui and Castlewood enjoy an excellent reputation in the community, and this is reflected in feedback from residents and their families.

Alexandra is a wine and fruit-growing haven and home to a community that thrives on recreation and outdoor adventure. On foot or on a mountain bike, you can follow trails in the hills to appreciate the unique beauty of the area. In summer and autumn, enjoy local apricots, peaches, cherries and apples. In winter, go ice skating on Manorburn Dam with its 30 hectares of natural ice. With plenty of trails around and the start of the Otago Central Rail Trail, Alexandra is a mountain biker’s dream. 

About this role

Reporting to the General Manager - Enliven Services, you will have responsibility for the overall operations of the care homes and take pride in ensuring residents and their families continue to receive the standards of care for which Ranui and Castlewood are so well known. 

The wider Enliven team of residential managers, Clinical Services Lead and Quality Advisor will provide you with exceptional support, as will your staff and volunteers at Ranui and Castlewood.

Hours:  Permanent, 1.0 FTE

About you

  • A proven track record of working positively and effectively in a management and leadership role within the health and disability sector, preferably in aged residential care
  • Demonstrated exceptional planning and organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement and strives for service excellence
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including relationship and advocacy skills
  • Personal and professional attributes that align with our vision, mission, and values
  • Postgraduate qualification in nursing/management/or related field or commitment to complete relevant postgraduate qualification is desired
