Visionwest’s Education and Training Centre is focused on empowering local communities. One way we do this is by offering a pathway into employment for rangatahi aged 16-24 through an MSD-funded education and mentoring programme preparing, placing and then walking with them through the first months of a job.   The Employment Services Facilitator is the main point of contact for referrals and is responsible for their processing to ensure confirmed enrolment of clients onto the programme. They will also operate in a planned and proactive way to build relationships with potential and current employers, ensure effective placements into employment, and mentor clients across 182 days of employment to increase the sustainability of their placement. The role will work with the Employment Services Contract Lead, and other VisionWest staff, as well as with employers, to support employment outcomes for clients. Skills and Experience:

  • Preferably hold a relevant tertiary qualification 
  • Experience working with clients experiencing challenging circumstances and providing solution focussed problem solving
  • Creating effective employment initiatives that cater for people with different ages and stages of learning
  • A willingness to gain knowledge about the employment market and industry trends
  • Have proven experience in youth work and mentoring
  • Effective time management and organisational skills together with strong administration processes
  • Able to take initiative, and having a love for networking and problem-solving.
