McKay Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our tight-knit Central Otago team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering variety and the chance to contribute to key infrastructure projects across the region.

Based in Cromwell, you will work across a variety of projects throughout Queenstown, Wānaka, and the wider Central Otago region. One day you could be contributing to infrastructure developments, the next supporting essential streetlighting services that help keep local communities connected and safe.

This is an opportunity to become a valued member of a small, highly capable team where your experience, initiative, and workmanship will be recognised. You will have the autonomy to take ownership of your work, the support of a respected national business behind you, and the variety that comes from working across multiple sectors and project types.

Daily transport is provided from our Cromwell workshop, and a tool-of-trade vehicle is included, making this an excellent opportunity for electricians based throughout Central Otago.

What you will bring:

  • A current EWRB Electrical Registration and NZ Practicing Licence
  • 3-5+ years' experience working on commercial electrical projects
  • Ability to work confidently unsupervised
  • A proactive, self-starting approach
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Commitment to health and safety
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment
