This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated electrical leader who is passionate about renewable energy, takes pride in delivering exceptional workmanship, and thrives in a busy, growing environment.

You’ll play a key role in overseeing our solar operations from design through to installation, ensuring every project is delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the highest standard.

About the Role

As our Electrical Operations Manager, you’ll lead our solar installation team and oversee the day-to-day delivery of residential and commercial solar projects.

You’ll work closely with our sales, administration and installation teams, providing technical leadership, coordinating projects and ensuring an outstanding experience for our customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading, supporting and developing our solar installation team
  • Designing residential and commercial solar systems using OpenSolar
  • Reviewing quotations and system designs for accuracy, suitability and compliance
  • Scheduling installations and managing project timelines

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced electrical leader who can confidently manage a team, coordinate installations and solve technical challenges.

You may already have extensive solar experience, or you may come from a commercial electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, building services or similar technical environment and be ready to develop your solar expertise.

Strong leadership, electrical knowledge and project delivery experience are essential. Direct solar experience would be a significant advantage, but training and support can be provided to the right person.

Essential Requirements

  • Current New Zealand electrical registration and a valid practising licence
  • Previous leadership, supervisory or project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand electrical regulations and compliance requirements
  • The ability to confidently lead and coordinate a technical team
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • A full New Zealand Driver Licence

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Solar PV design or installation experience
  • Experience using OpenSolar or a similar design platform
  • Battery storage installation experience
  • Experience with inverter commissioning and monitoring platforms
  • Experience managing residential or commercial installation projects
  • A passion for mentoring electricians, installers and apprentices
  • SEANZ, CEC or other recognised solar training or certification

If you're an experienced electrician with a passion for solar and leadership, we'd love to hear from you.
