About the role

As an Electrical Engineer at Skyline Queenstown, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the electrical integrity and performance of our aerial Doppelmayr gondola and chairlift systems, conveyor systems, carts, tracks, and associated facilities. We’re looking for a qualified Electrician or Electrical Engineer with a strong electrical background, who is ready to develop expertise in the specialised world of chairlifts and gondolas.

Prior experience with aerial ropeway systems isn’t required, as we provide comprehensive training to help you develop the necessary expertise. We’re seeking someone who prioritises safety and is eager to learn and grow in the role.

The perfect candidate will have:

• current New Zealand Electrical Registration (or equivalent recognised qualification)
• solid experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding on industrial or mechanical systems
• strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance standards
• good problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work under pressure
• a methodical, proactive approach to maintenance and record-keeping
• willingness to work at heights and outdoors in a dynamic environment
• a safety-first mindset and commitment to continuous learning
