Mō te tūraka mahi | About the role 

Based in our Allied Trades Team, you will be able to share your knowledge, experience, passion and creativity with ākonga (learners) interested in electrical trades. You will create an outstanding experience by teaching skills and imparting your knowledge to ākonga in either full time or part time study and in practical and theoretical settings. 

The Lecturer will support learning and teaching for learners studying the Electrical Pre-trade Level 3 course and apprentices through EarnLearn delivery for evening classes. You would need to be available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 1-9pm and on Thursdays & Fridays at times that work for you between 8am-5pm (7.5 hours each day).

The key to your success in this role will be your adaptability and enthusiasm for lifelong learning, while taking on new challenges as you inspire and teach sustainable and well-rounded electronics of the future.

· be a role model and mentor our learners to encourage them to achieve their goals

· assess learners and report on their capability and ability to use new technology in the electrical field. 

Ko wai koe | About you

You will have recent and suitable industry experience and be a registered electrician. You will be used to using a computer and have good knowledge and expertise in all modern electronics.  Having Unit Standard 4098 Assess Candidate Performance would be an advantage but if you don’t we will support you to obtain this qualification and in how to teach ākonga (learners).

You’ll have the right attitude and be willing to work with people from all cultures and walks of life. Safety will be important to you.
