Remuneration: $68,000 - $86,000 (Fixed remuneration excluding Kiwisaver)

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the RoleJoin Toi Ohomai as an Education Pathways Specialist and play a pivotal role in our secondary school engagement strategy. Your role will encompass promoting all offerings at Toi Ohomai while guiding rangatahi (youth) through tertiary pathway options. You'll ensure Toi Ohomai adds significant value in secondary schools, NEET's (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), and community group spaces. Building excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be essential in this role, facilitating seamless collaboration and promoting educational opportunities effectively. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on the educational journey of rangatahi and contribute to the growth and success of Toi Ohomai.Ngā mahi | Key ResponsibilitiesThe Education Pathways Specialist is based in our Events and Engagement team, reporting to the Events & Engagement Manager, and will be responsible for: • Assist in the development and implementation of the Secondary school engagement strategy to promote Toi Ohomai's offerings and assist rangatahi in navigating tertiary pathways effectively.• Increase participation and visibility of Toi Ohomai through targeted recruitment events.• Tailor information and support services to meet the specific needs of secondary schools.• Establish and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance collaboration and support.• Utilise innovative technology to optimise communication channels and engagement with prospective students and partners.

  • A bachelor’s degree in management, education, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Education sector experience, with knowledge of NZQA standards and curriculum requirements desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confidence with electronic marketing and communication tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and educational levels.
  • A proactive, vibrant, and enthusiastic approach, with a strong focus on supporting learners.
  • Understanding of tikanga Māori, demonstrating respect for cultural protocols and practices within the education sector
