Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

Are you passionate about education and dedicated to delivering high‑quality learning experiences to all ākonga? The Education Advisor a permanent part-time 0.6 FTE position. In this role, you will work closely with staff across all subject areas to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate student‑centred learning experiences in a blended learning environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to support kaiako capability, strengthen academic quality, and contribute to innovative curriculum and learning design across EIT.

The appointing salary for this role will be dependent on skills and experience.

The Education Advisor is based in Te Papa Ako – Education Development Centre (EDC), reporting to the Manager, Te Papa Ako, and will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership and guidance on curriculum and learning design projects across the organisation.
  • Supporting best practice in assessment, blended learning, online learning, active learning, and the development of high‑quality learning resources.
  • Strengthening academic quality assurance processes, including programme monitoring, self‑review, and programme approval/accreditation.
  • Designing and delivering professional development that builds kaiako capability in teaching practice, reflective practice, and quality assurance.
  • Leading or supporting education development projects and institutional initiatives related to teaching and learning.

He kōrero mōu | About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A postgraduate qualification in Education, Evaluation, Learning Design, Educational Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • Current knowledge of tertiary education quality assurance systems and processes, academic regulations and policies, and administration practices — including the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework and the Quality Evaluations Framework.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in learning design principles and practices, curriculum design and development, and contemporary learning and teaching practice.
  • Experience in change management and project management methodologies.
  • Proven ability to balance priorities, identify valid options, solve problems, and make effective decisions.
  • Advanced report writing, research, and analytical skills.
