UCOL's Early Childhood Education and Care Team has an exciting opportunity available for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Early Childhood Education and Care Lecturer on the Whanganui campus.  This position is permanent 0.5 FTE with the potential to increase to 0.8 FTE Fixed-Term Semester One only.   This role is essential to ensure high-quality delivery across Level 4–7 programmes.

As a member of UCOL's Early Childhood Team you will have the ability to inspire others to pursue and achieve their dreams by offering them quality teaching, mentoring and motivation. You will engage, support and motivate these young students to achieve quality results and build a strong foundation for their future study and career choices.

This position requires you to be hands on, facilitating one on one learning, mentoring and motivating students, leading workshops and working with students individually, so your well-tuned rapport building and communication skills will be required.

Skills / attributes:

· It is highly preferred that you have a teaching qualification, a qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (encompassing both theory and practice) and experience in teaching Early Childhood Education programmes

· Comfortable and competent using various forms of technology

· Comfortable and competent teaching via distance learning

· Excellent communicator

· Ability to work with a wide range of learners

· Proven problem solving ability

· Able to think on your feet

· Full driver’s license
