EIT Student Village Support Staff (Casual and On-Call)

We are seeking expressions of interest from suitable candidates keen to support EIT Student Village management. 

Casual/on call positions available to cover a range of times over a period from Monday to Sunday 8am to 7.30 pm, overnight on call and public holidays. Successful candidates will be required to live onsite during these hours to provide cover for management during periods of leave and public holidays. 

Duties will include the tasks listed below:

  • Assist in all emergencies, attend to all pastoral care and wellbeing issues. 
  • Be available for EIT Student Village posted hours. 
  • Receive and respond to all telephone enquiries. 
  • Deal with any urgent emails.
  • Receive all incoming mail & parcels. Collect mail from EIT mail room. 
  • Respond to any breaches of the EIT Student Village rules and conditions. 
  • Assist residents with villa/room lockouts. 
  • Respond to all fire & smoke activations alarms. 
  • Complete induction process for all resident arrivals.
  • Complete vacating residents’ inspections. 
  • Undertake minor maintenance, including cleaning.
  • Unlock/lock bins.
  • Complete nightly security checks.

The ideal candidates will:

  • Have the ability to learn and understand the Code of Practice 2021 (Pastoral care of tertiary and international learners) in particular outcomes 5,6 & 7.
  • Be fit and able to handle physical duties.
  • Be friendly and approachable.
  • Possess a positive, customer service focussed attitude
  • Be honest and reliable and have well developed oral, written and interpersonal skills
