Are you a safe, reliable driver who enjoys building positive relationships within the community? BestStart Waihopai Kindy is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Van Driver to join our team and help support local families by providing safe transportation for our tamariki.

Located in the heart of Invercargill, BestStart Waihopai Kindy is a warm, welcoming centre with a strong community focus and a small-home feel. Our participation van service helps families who may not have access to transport, enabling children to attend early learning regularly. We work closely with community organisations including Red Cross, Plunket, Family Works, Oranga Tamariki, and Early Intervention Teachers to support the wellbeing and success of local children and families.

About the Role

This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a split shift:

  • Morning run: 8:00am - 10:00am
  • Afternoon run: 2:30pm - 4:30pm

As our Van Driver, you will play an important role in the daily lives of our tamariki and their whānau. You will safely transport children between home and the centre while building trusted relationships with families and representing BestStart in the local community.

We're Looking For Someone Who Is:

  • Enthusiastic, dependable, and community-minded
  • A confident driver with a full, clean driver's licence (ideally held for at least three years)

  • An excellent communicator who can build strong relationships within the community
  • Understanding of, or willing to learn about, child safety requirements within the ECE sector
  • Responsible, organised, and professional in their approach to work
