At BestStart Inglewood, we don’t just teach — we grow greatness. We’re a centre full of heart, culture and connection, where belonging is felt the moment you walk through the door. We’ve won innovation awards three years running, we’re home to the award-winning Set for School programme, and our strong community connections make us feel like one big whānau. As a small, family-based centre, we welcome tamariki as tiny seeds and support them to BLOSSOM into confident, curious humans through love, learning and laughter. If you want to work somewhere fun, meaningful, community-driven and culturally rich — this is the place.

About the Role

We’re on the lookout for a fun, caring, community-loving kaiako who brings warmth, energy and great communication to our team. You’ll love getting involved in the day-to-day life of our centre, building real connections with tamariki and whānau, and being part of a team that truly supports one another. We live our vision — Poipoia Te Kākano Kia Puāwai — every day, and if those words resonate with you, you’ll fit right in.  We’re happy to be flexible and can consider the role on either a full-time or part-time basis to suit the right person.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll be someone who builds rich, respectful relationships and communicates with ease — whether you’re talking, laughing, storytelling or simply listening. Your “let’s give it a go!” attitude, kindness and genuine enthusiasm will help you thrive here. You’ll enjoy being part of our community and finding ways to bring that wider community into our centre. With a balance of intentional teaching and everyday fun, you’ll see each child as capable, unique and ready to grow with your support.

Your Teaching Superpowers

You’ll learn alongside tamariki, nurturing their confidence and curiosity while creating spaces where they feel safe, seen and celebrated. You value reflection and embrace new learning as part of your professional journey. Strong, authentic partnerships with whānau matter to you, and you play an active role in bringing our philosophy and vision to life through your practice every day.

What You’ll Bring

  • A Level 7 ECE qualification
  • Current NZ teacher registration
  • Strong understanding of Te Whāriki
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to safety, compliance and supporting our centre to thrive
  • A team-focused attitude and alignment with our values

If you’re ready to join a centre where purpose, joy and connection are part of every day, we’d love to hear from you.  Apply now and come nurture greatness with us at BestStart Inglewood.
