BestStart Mosgiel – Respect Grows Here!

Are you in your first or second year of ECE study and passionate about supporting children’s learning? BestStart Mosgiel is looking for a Teacher in Training to join our caring and close-knit team.

We’re a centre with a strong sense of place, a well-established team, and deep roots in our local community. Our tamariki explore through regular excursions, community connections, and a rich cultural narrative featuring Matamata the Taniwha and the Taieri Plains. With “Respect Grows Here” at the heart of our philosophy, we nurture tamariki as taonga (treasures) and foster a strong sense of belonging for both children and whānau.

Our beautiful, expansive outdoor area is central to our learning. tamariki thrive through hands-on, sensory play that connects them to Papatūānuku. Daily routines like gardening and caring for our environment encourage tamariki to become kaitiaki (guardians), while tuakana/teina relationships strengthen respect and manaakitanga.
