ECE Qualified Teacher (BestStart Merivale)
BestStart Merivale is looking for a passionate, dedicated Qualified and Certificated Teacher to join our energetic, tight‑knit team on a fixed‑term basis to cover parental leave. This role is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working with our wonderful 2–5‑year‑old tamariki.
You’ll be joining a centre known for its strong, positive team culture, where collaboration, respect, and genuine care for children and whānau guide everything we do. Our teachers support one another, share ideas, and create meaningful learning experiences in a fun, nurturing environment.

About the Role
This fixed‑term position (April 26–December 26) is 25 hours per week, Monday–Friday, working with our over‑2s.
What We’re Looking For
- BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher certification
- Strong understanding of child‑led curriculum and planning
- Sound knowledge of ECE Regulations, Te Whāriki, and compliance
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday practice
- A nurturing, enthusiastic teacher who values teamwork and quality learning
