ECE Kitchen Support (BestStart Maunu Village)
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team in an exciting dual role—supporting in the kitchen and caring for our tamariki.
Nestled against beautiful native bush in the heart of Maunu, BestStart Maunu Village is a place where memories are made, learning comes to life, and adventure awaits. As a valued member of our team, you’ll work alongside experienced teachers, collaborate with supportive colleagues, and help create a warm and enriching environment for our children.
This permanent, part-time role (20 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 1 PM) is perfect for someone who enjoys both preparing nourishing meals and engaging with young learners. You’ll play an important role in ensuring our tamariki receive delicious, nutritious food while also supporting them in their daily routines.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing nurturing care and meaningful learning experiences for tamariki.
- Assist with kitchen duties and maintain a clean and organised workspace.
- Help the centre chef prepare nutritious meals for the children
- Supporting across classrooms, assisting teachers, and ensuring smooth transitions.
- Supporting centre operations and maintaining a positive, safe environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- A genuine passion for working with children under five, particularly infants and toddlers.
- A passion for cooking and baking
- A passion for promoting healthy eating for young children
- An understanding of allergies and dietary requirements
- Experience in a caregiving or childcare role (an ECE qualification is not required).
- A proactive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to take direction.
- A commitment to building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
