Due to an internal promotion, BestStart Wigram is looking for a passionate and dedicated Qualified, Registered Teacher to join our energetic and close-knit team as Head Teacher of our Tahi Building.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced leader who is ready to extend their knowledge, share their strengths and embrace an exciting new challenge. Within our thoughtfully designed learning environments, we provide high-quality childcare and early education across two spacious classrooms.
At BestStart Wigram, we take an unhurried approach to teaching. We believe there is always time for children to learn, explore, collaborate and have fun. Through open communication, we build strong partnerships with whānau, sharing regular updates on each child’s learning and development while celebrating their unique culture, identity and individuality.
About BestStart Wigram
Our purpose-designed childcare complex includes two buildings, Tahi and Rua, located in the Wigram Skies subdivision near Hornby. Our seven classrooms are carefully designed to meet the needs of each age group.
This approach allows us to provide developmentally appropriate resources, age-specific challenges and individualised learning plans throughout every stage of each child’s learning journey.
Our Kaiako work closely with whānau to incorporate home routines for our youngest tamariki. For our older children, our Set for School programme supports confidence, independence and a successful transition to school.
About the Role
This is a permanent, 40-hour-per-week position, Monday to Friday.
The Tahi Building is a newly renovated space featuring spacious, open learning environments where children can explore, investigate and learn at their own pace. Across two large classrooms, children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence and a sense of belonging.
The building also has a generous outdoor area where children can challenge themselves, stay active and make choices about their learning. Our flexible outdoor equipment provides variety and supports children to build self-confidence, problem-solving skills and physical capability.
