About the Role:

Are you a bubbly, passionate, and dedicated Qualified ECE Teacher with full registration, ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? BestStart Oraha is looking for a Head Teacher who can mentor and inspire our team, bringing energy, warmth, and a love for learning to our centre.

Nestled in the heart of Kumeu-Huapai, BestStart Oraha is a purpose-built centre designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Our well-established, reflective team is deeply committed to growth, excellence, and fostering strong relationships with tamariki and whānau.

This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

As Head Teacher, you’ll:

• Lead and mentor a passionate teaching team
• Champion our Reggio-inspired philosophy and child-led learning approach
• Support programme planning, assessment, and curriculum development
• Build strong, respectful relationships with tamariki, whānau, and your team
• Ensure high standards of care, safety, and compliance are upheld

What We’re Looking For:

• A Qualified ECE Teacher with a Level 7 qualification and full NZ teacher registration
• A natural leader with mentoring experience or the confidence to step into leadership
• A strong understanding of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and best teaching practices
• Passion for the Reggio Emilia philosophy or a keen interest in learning more
• A collaborative, heart-led approach to teaching and leadership
