BestStart Cornwall Street is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Registered Teacher to join our energetic and tight-knit team as our new Head Teacher in our Toddler Room. 

BestStart Cornwall Street is conveniently located in Central Lower Hutt. When you visit us, you will see kaiako and tamariki engaged in learning moments that flow from natural interests and a desire to play.  Kaiako create a physical environment with small, cosy quiet spaces for working in small groups. Our centre has three rooms designed for the developmental stages of children as they grow. Our large porch and outdoor area provide space for your child to move and actively explore no matter the weather.

About the Role:  

This is a permanent position working 40hours Monday-Friday.

Role requirements:  

We're looking for a natural leader who shares our values and vision who has a good understanding of programme planning and assessment as well as a drive and passion for growth.   

As well as:  

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification  
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum  
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard  
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
