Centre Manager – BestStart Ferry Road - Lead with confidence in a vibrant, culturally rich community!

BestStart Ferry Road is on the lookout for a strong, confident, and community-minded Centre Manager to lead our well-established team. Based in the heart of Woolston, our purpose-built centre is known for its strong occupancy and deep-rooted relationships within a highly diverse local community.

This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday).We’re looking for someone who brings calm leadership, professionalism, and resilience. 

This is a rewarding role suited to someone who communicates with clarity, leads with empathy, and has the presence to navigate a variety of perspectives and cultures with confidence and respect.

About the Centre

Our centre is licensed for 70 children, across three classrooms with two spacious outdoor playgrounds. We’ve built a reputation for quality, consistency, and genuine connections with our families. Our programme reflects and celebrates the cultures of our tamariki and whānau, this is a place where everyone should feel they belong.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Level 7 ECE qualification and current teacher certification
  • Has strong working knowledge of ECE regulations, Te Whāriki, and child-led curriculum
  • Demonstrates a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and inclusive practice
  • Is a confident and empathetic communicator
  • Has leadership experience
  • Can coach and grow others while driving quality outcomes
  • Thrives on simplifying systems and lifting performance
