BestStart Hei Hei is looking for a passionate and dedicated Centre Administrator to join our friendly and tight-knit team. Our centre is home to four spacious classrooms, a passionate teaching team with low turnover, and a strong connection to our community. We’re proud of our vegetable garden, our community food pantry, and our newly renovated outdoor play areas. About the Role

This is a part-time, fixed-term role covering parental leave, starting August 2025 and finishing August 2026. You’ll work 25 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

As our Centre Administrator, you will play a vital role in the smooth day-to-day running of our centre. You’ll be the friendly face that welcomes our whānau, the organiser behind our systems, and the problem-solver who keeps everything on track.

Your tasks will include:

  • Responding to parent queries and enrolment enquiries
  • Managing bookings, data entry, and daily administration tasks
  • Maintaining accurate parent accounts, managing payments and direct debits
  • Meeting regular reporting deadlines
  • Using systems such as Word, Excel and Outlook confidently
  • Supporting the teaching team and occasionally spending time with the children
  • You’ll also be supported by our dedicated National Admin Support team who are just a call away.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is compassionate, approachable, and enjoys helping others
  • Has a professional, positive attitude and works well as part of a team
  • Has strong organisational and time management skills
  • Can manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy
  • Has experience in basic accounts, data entry, and customer service
  • Is confident using Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Delivers excellent customer service and is happy to go the extra mile
