About the Role
As a Caregiver at BestStart Raumati, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where tamariki can explore, learn, and thrive. You will be supported by a dedicated Centre Manager and a collaborative team who value positivity, professionalism, and strong relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high‑quality care and education to tamariki
- Supporting learning through play, exploration, and creativity
- Contributing to a positive team culture
- Engaging across all classrooms and age groups
- Assisting with centre operations and covering staff breaks
This is a permanent position working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 10am to 2pm. You will work with children across all age groups, offering great variety and connection.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who is:
- Passionate about working with young children
- Confident supporting tamariki from under 2s through to 4+ years
- A strong team player who values relationships
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and proactive
- Experienced with children under five (an ECE qualification is not required)
A natural affinity for infants and toddlers is essential, along with the ability to take direction and use initiative.
