ECE Caregiver (BestStart Oraha)
We’re on the lookout for a bubbly, positive, and passionate Caregiver to join our fun and dedicated team at BestStart Oraha Road, nestled in the scenic Kumeu area.
At BestStart Oraha, we’re a Reggio-inspired early learning centre that values children as capable and curious learners. Our purpose-built environment supports child-led exploration, meaningful play, and strong relationships, creating a place where tamariki feel a true sense of belonging.
About the Role
As a Caregiver, you’ll play an important role in supporting toddlers and preschool-aged children in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment. Working closely with our qualified teachers, you’ll help deliver engaging, play-based experiences while supporting children’s wellbeing, development, and daily routines.
You’ll build warm, trusting relationships with our tamariki and whānau and contribute positively to our collaborative team culture.
This is a permanent, full-time role – 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing loving care, including feeding, changing, and supporting daily routines
- Supporting play-based, Reggio-inspired learning experiences
- Observing and contributing to children’s learning and development
- Assisting with centre operations, including covering across rooms and staff breaks
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming environment
- Building strong, respectful relationships with whānau and colleagues
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Warm, caring, and genuinely passionate about working with young children
- Energetic, positive, and reflective in their practice
- A strong team player who enjoys collaborating with others
- Confident following direction while also taking initiative
- Experienced working with children under five (ECE qualification not required)
- Willing to learn, grow, and develop within the early childhood sector
