ECE Caregiver (BestStart Kaikorai Valley Road)
BestStart Kaikorai Valley Road is seeking a warm, energetic Caregiver to join our tight‑knit and passionate team. About the Role
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and collaborative team member who will embrace our centre philosophy and contribute to our warm, inclusive environment. As a Caregiver (Unqualified ECE Teacher), you will:
- Provide nurturing, responsive care and support children’s learning and development
- Build strong, trusting relationships with tamariki, whānau, Kaiako, and our wider community
- Support daily routines and assist Kaiako with observations and documentation
- Champion our centre values of whanaungatanga, belonging, manaakitanga, and identity
- Help maintain a welcoming, culturally rich environment that reflects Te Ao Māori
- Bring your own personality, creativity, and curiosity to our vibrant team culture
This role is perfect for someone proactive, flexible, and eager to learn, someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings a “whatever it takes” attitude to supporting tamariki and the team.
This is a permanent, full‑time position working 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday.
What We’re Looking For
While an ECE qualification is not required, you will bring:
- A natural affinity for working with young children, especially infants and toddlers
- Experience supporting children under five
- Strong communication skills and the ability to take direction
- Initiative, reliability, and a genuine passion for Early Childhood Education
- A love of diversity and a commitment to embracing Te Ao Māori
