ECE Assistant Manager (BestStart Dilworth Ave)
We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Head Teacher / Assistant Manager to lead our much-loved Set for School programme in the Preschool Room (4–5 years) at BestStart Dilworth Avenue. This is a truly special leadership opportunity for an educator who teaches and leads from the heart.
About the Role:
You will guide and support a warm, cohesive, and deeply committed teaching team who are already strongly connected to the programme and dedicated to our tamariki. Alongside this, you’ll be fully supported by an invested Centre Manager who values collaboration, professional growth, and strong relationships.
This role is perfect for a current Head Teacher seeking meaningful leadership progression towards an Assistant Manager position and beyond. We are looking for a confident, experienced leader who can step into this role and uphold the beautifully established programme - rich in rhythm, flow, and strong foundations, while bringing their own strengths, expertise, and professional leadership, all supported by our amazing preschool rations of 1:6.
You will oversee a talented, enthusiastic team who value high-quality practice, consistency, and collaborative teaching. Your leadership will help shape a smooth, supportive, and inspiring transition-to-school journey for our preschool tamariki.
What We're Looking For:
- A fully qualified and registered ECE or Primary teacher (Level 7)
- Strong teaching experience, ideally within preschool or school-readiness programmes
- Proven leadership experience in a Head Teacher position
- A warm, relational leader who teaches from the heart
- Someone who values established practice while contributing their own professional strengths
- A strong communicator who builds trust with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues
- Deep understanding of Te Whāriki and high-quality curriculum delivery
- Organised, reflective, and committed to excellence in early learning
