Domestic Assistant (BestStart Elles Road)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Assistant to join our welcoming and busy team at BestStart Elles Road, located in South City, Invercargill.
At BestStart Elles Road, we have a strong community presence, and our tamariki are empowered to become confident and capable learners. We are a vibrant, well-connected centre with a supportive, relaxed team who love being out and about in our local community.
Our centre is licensed for 75 children, and we provide nutritious, cooked lunches daily, prepared off site and delivered fresh to the centre. As our Domestic Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our centre.
our responsibilities will include:
- Serving lunch (kai) to children
- Preparing afternoon tea
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and hygienic
- Staying on top of dishes throughout the day
- Supporting with daily laundry tasks
- Maintaining kitchen compliance standards
We provide full induction and training to set you up for success.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong knowledge of kitchen health and safety and maintains high hygiene standards
- Enjoys being in an environment alongside children
- Understands allergies and dietary requirements
- Has a positive, can-do attitude and works well within a team
- Is organised, efficient, and has great attention to detail
Working Hours
This is a permanent part-time position:
- Monday to Friday
- 11:00am – 1:00pm (10 hours per week)
