That is why we are searching for an out-going, energetic Diversional Therapist with creative flair to join our Tasman Care Home, conveniently located in Henderson. This is a permanent, full-time position. 

As a Diversional Therapist within an aged care environment, you will provide leadership to a team of activities staff and promote a positive team approach within the Hugh Green Care Home.  You will identify the leisure activity needs of each individual resident based on their interests, preferences, and abilities, coordinating suitable activities programs. 

 Where you will make an impact 

  • Coordinate and implement a programme of group and individual activities
  • Plan activities relevant to the individual needs, abilities, and interests of the residents 
  • Ensure the residents are treated with respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity 
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally to support the activities programme
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement of activities and programmes.
  • Adhere to Bupa policies and procedures. 

What about you 

  • An NZQA Certificate in Diversional Therapy Level 4 is essential 
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience within aged care
  • Display enthusiasm, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of residents 
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication skills 
  • A fun personality with a creative flair

The NZ Government COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021 (Vaccinations Order), has mandated that workers in the health and disability sector must be double vaccinated, including booster vaccinations which came into effect on 23 January 2022. Due to this mandate, we will need evidence of your two vaccinations and your booster.

If you received your second dose on or before 16 August 2021, then you must get the vaccine booster by 15 February 2022.  If you received your second dose after 16 August 2021, then you must get the vaccine booster within 183 days (6 months) of your second dose.
