As part of FMG’s technology and information management journey, we have an opportunity based in our Wellington (or Palmerston North) office and reporting to the Head of Information Management for a Digital Workplace Specialist.

About the Role

Leveraging FMG’s digital tools and platforms, this role focuses on helping our people collaborate effectively, work smarter, and quickly access the information and knowledge they need. As a Digital Workplace Specialist, you’ll champion Microsoft 365 and emerging AI capabilities like Copilot, turning strategy into practical solutions that simplify work and enhance the employee experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Championing the use of M365 tools (e.g. Teams, SharePoint, and Copilot) to deliver productivity gains and enable new ways of working.
  • Contributing to strategy and best practice for managing FMG’s intranet and semi-structured electronic information.
  • Partnering with business units to maintain intranet integrity and optimise collaboration.
  • Providing expertise and advice on leveraging the M365 suite for efficiency and knowledge sharing.
  • Understanding business information assets and ensuring compliance with best practice.
  • Delivering ongoing training and support to embed information and knowledge management practices across FMG.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong experience with the Microsoft 365 product suite, especially productivity and collaboration tools like Teams and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of Information Management and Knowledge Management principles, with an ability to apply these in practical ways.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills to support and engage stakeholders.
  • Ability to deliver training and guidance that makes digital tools simple and accessible.
  • A collaborative approach and confidence to influence adoption of new ways of working.
  • Curiosity and adaptability to keep pace with emerging technologies, including AI tools like Copilot.
