We are seeking an experienced and future-focused leader to provide senior practice leadership in digital education within our professional and vocational education context.

This pivotal role contributes to institutional growth through the co-construction and embedding of a refreshed Teaching and Learning Framework and associated digital practices. Working across strategy and operations, you will translate institutional intent into coherent, achievable practice that enhances learner success and staff capability.

You will lead learner lifecycle-informed digital education approaches that respond to the differing needs of school-leavers transitioning into tertiary study and adult learners with established experiential knowledge. Ensuring our digital platforms, tools, LMS services and staff capability actively remove barriers to participation will be central to your work — with a strong focus on equitable outcomes for Māori and Pacific learners.

Partnering with academic kaimahi, academic advisers and digital education designers, you will champion high-quality educational design, embedding constructive alignment in curriculum planning and development and online course components. You will model and foster the use of technology-supported learning approaches that build ākonga autonomy, strengthen assessment design, and enhance asynchronous learning.

As lead of the Digital Education team, you will co-construct priorities, build strong cross-institutional relationships, and work alongside academic, quality, learning and development, and Māori and Pacific teams to deliver measurable impact.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Senior practice leadership experience in digital education, learning design, or teaching and learning enhancement

  • Demonstrated capability in learner-centred, lifecycle-informed design across blended and digital environments

  • Experience advancing mana-enhancing, culturally responsive practice and giving effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi

If you are ready to influence at institutional level and shape digitally enabled, equitable learner success, we invite you to enquire and apply.
