Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and future‑focused Director, Digital for a full‑time, permanent role based in Hawke’s Bay, leading EIT’s digital vision and organisation‑wide technology direction. This role ensures our digital capabilities align with organisational goals, enhance operational efficiency, and support secure, scalable, user‑centred solutions. Working across the organisation, the Director will influence digital transformation, innovation, and resilience, partnering closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders.

The appointing salary for this role will be dependent on skills and experience.

The Director, Digital is based in the Digital team at EIT, reporting to the Executive Director, Portfolio & Performance, and will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and execution of EIT’s strategic digital plan
  • Overseeing cyber security, risk mitigation, and compliance
  • Providing strong leadership across the Digital Team
  • Managing major digital and restoration projects
  • Communicating digital strategy and initiatives across business units

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills
  • Proven digital leadership experience
  • Ability to explain complex concepts simply
  • Strong understanding of IT security
  • Experience leading teams in a medium‑to‑large organisation
  • Relevant bachelor's qualification (post‑graduate preferred)
