There’s never been a more exciting time to join our progressive, fast-growing district. As development continues across Horowhenua, we’re looking for an experienced and motivated Development Engineer ready to step into a technical lead role within our Housing and Business Development Team. You’ll play a key part in supporting well-planned growth by ensuring infrastructure requirements are understood, met, and integrated into our systems. This role is about more than just compliance — it’s about enabling good development outcomes, managing risk, and working collaboratively with a wide range of people to get things done. 

He kōrero mōu – About you

You’ll bring strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with developers, consultants, and internal teams. You’re solutions-focused, technically capable, and confident navigating policy, standards, and planning processes. We’re looking for someone with a professional engineering qualification, ideally in civil engineering, and solid post-qualification experience. You’ll have a strong background in subdivision and land development, with proven experience in the design and assessment of land use and subdivision consents, earthworks, roading, drainage, and water supply infrastructure.
