We are looking for experienced caregivers to provide exceptional in-home care to our clients in the Porirua region.  We have seen an increase in clients requesting care for their loved ones with diagnosed Dementia.   We provide 24/7 care to our clients with a range of shifts to cover mornings, nights, sleepovers and wake overs , Monday to Sunday.   Depending on the shifts worked, you could be providing personal cares, companionship, meal prep, home-help support and night time assistance.

At this time, we are looking for carers who are truly experienced and confident with Dementia and in particular Lewy Body Dementia.  We need carers with good availability across the week, ideally between 10am and 9pm.  While we do not offer guarenteed hours of work, we can offer you flexibility to ensure you work the shifts that fit around your own lifestyle and family commitments.   As a carer with Miranda Smith Homecare, you have the ability to make a meaningful impact on the client and their families, through the quality care you provide.

We require our carers to have a full driver license with a reliable car to get to and from their clients homes.  You must have already obtained the right to legally work in NZ.  So, if you're looking to work casual/flexible hours and want to make a positive impact in your local community,  we would love to hear from you!

We have a dedicated office team providing support and guidance to our caregivers. We have a registered nurse on the team to support you in your role and an after hours coordination team to ensure you have the support you need should you work weekends and nights.

We would love to hear from you if you have had experience with the following:

  • Companionship and home-help, which may include light house work
  • Meal preparation
  • Personal Cares; to include showering, dressing, grooming
  • Dementia care
  • Palliative care

  • Recent care giving/healthcare preferred
  • A clean full NZ Driver's License and a car;
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
