Delivery and Forklift Driver
Bidfood Queenstown are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Delivery and Forklift Driver to support our distribution and warehouse operations. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting food products to customers in Queenstown and surrounding areas. You'll be expected to deliver fresh, frozen, and dry goods safely and on time, while ensuring the highest standards of customer service and food safety are maintained. You will be responsible for unloading and re-stocking deliveries using a forklift. You will be required to assist in stock and re-stock of the warehouse using a forklift and picking wholesale customer food orders from the dry store, chillers, freezers and fresh produce department, packing order and loading trucks. The role will also involve assisting with receiving, checking and storage of inwards goods, replenishment, cleaning and other warehouse tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a company truck to deliver food products to local customers, including restaurants, cafés, retailers, and hotels.
- Ensure all food products are delivered on time, in the right condition, and at the correct temperature (ensuring proper handling of perishable items).
- Provide excellent customer service with a friendly and professional attitude, assisting with any customer inquiries as needed.
- Adhere to food safety regulations, including proper temperature control, secure handling, and hygiene standards while delivering food products.
- Accurately complete any required delivery documentation, including invoices, receipts, and delivery confirmations.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles using a forklift
- Stock and re-stock the warehouse using a forklift
- Organize and store products in the warehouse following safety protocols.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for delivery.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks.
- Assist with warehouse tasks when needed, including loading orders and preparing deliveries.
- Keep the warehouse clean and organized to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.
- Be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to accommodate customer needs.
Skills Required:
- A valid Forklift License
- A valid NZ Drivers License
- A relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 OR 3 years of relevant work experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

This is a full-time role, the roster will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, with a 5am start time. Minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed and maximum weekly hours are 60. The hourly rate is between $28.00-$32.00 per hour depending on the class of Drivers License and relevant driving experience. You must hold a valid NZ Forklift License and valid NZ Driver's License (class 1 or higher) Please note, International Licenses are not valid for driving delivery trucks.
