You’ll earn great money and receive up to four months leave per year when you join our hard-working deepsea fishing crew. And right now, we’re looking for applicants to take part in our pre-employment training courses. 

   

It’s part job, part journey!

Talley’s is proudly New Zealand owned and operated. We run five deep sea fishing vessels with primarily Kiwi crews bringing the best New Zealand seafood to the world. Right now, we’re looking for prospective crew members who are interested in a career in deepsea fishing. 

The adventure begins with a five day pre-employment course in Nelson, you’ll be given specialized training to get you ready for sea. We’ll put you through NZQA unit standards in health & safety, firefighting, sea survival and seafood handling. You’ll also do practical sessions in the pool, and the gym to test you mentally and physically for the conditions at sea.

If you’re from out of town, we’ll provide you with accommodation and food during the course, you just have to get yourself to Nelson.

Upon successfully completing the course, you’ll be invited to join our crew. You’ll earn great money on board our fleet of modern vessels, all with comfortable cabins, usually with an ènsuite. Most of our fleet also have an onboard gym, WIFI and plenty of space to relax in your downtime.

And you don’t spend much on living when you’re out at sea. As well as an excellent opportunity to save, we provide ongoing specialized training opportunities that set you up with skills and qualifications that will set you up for life and take you anywhere in the world.

 

We’re looking for:

-Motivated and energetic team players who get on well with others.

-People who can take direction, are willing to learn and progress within our company. 

-Conditions at sea can be challenging so being fit and healthy is a must.

-You must be at least 18 years old to work at sea.

-Proof of New Zealand citizenship, permanent residence, or currently be residing in New Zealand and have a visa enabling you to work for a minimum of two years.
