We are seeking a fixed term Data Engineer / BI Developer to join our team for 12 months and support the delivery of high-quality, actionable insights across the business. This role is central to our master data strategy and our data platform, enabling the organisation to make informed decisions based on trusted data.

Working closely in the Master Data team, and with stakeholders across finance, operations, and executive leadership, you’ll design and maintain Lakehouses, model raw data into dimensional tables, implement and maintain robust data pipelines, deliver powerful dashboards using Power BI, and support integrations with our core systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O and Microsoft Fabric. 

Key Responsibilities:

Data Modelling & ETL Development

  • Work with the Master Data Lead in the end-to-end migration process by extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from legacy systems into Microsoft Fabric. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment with business logic throughout the migration.
  • Design and implement robust dimensional models, including the creation of fact and dimension tables. Develop reusable dataflows and datasets that support scalable reporting and analytics.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL, PySpark and DAX queries to extract and manipulate data within Fabric Notebooks.
  • Conduct thorough testing of data pipelines and models to ensure accuracy and completeness. Validate outputs against business requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.

Reporting & Dashboard Development

  • Develop visually engaging and interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Translate complex data into business-friendly formats and visualisations.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver insights aligned to business goals.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Conduct data validation and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Proactively identify and resolve data anomalies or integrity issues.
  • Support the development and enforcement of data governance policies.


Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Proven experience in data engineering, BI development, or analytics roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SQL, and data modelling techniques.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Pipelines, and Azure SQL.
  • Understanding of data warehousing principles and ETL development & notebooks.
  • Knowledge on APIs, connectors, and logic apps will be an added advantage.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O data structures and reporting.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, DAX, or data integration tools.
  • Proven experience with Tableau or Google Analytics.
  • Exposure to enterprise data governance and data platform best practices.
